The threat of bedbugs, which increases especially in the summer months, is increasing in Greece. Authorities stated that they were on high alert due to bedbugs and that the insects were seen in hotels, camps and apartments.

Yorgos Lambru, President of the Hellenic Association of Bedbug Extermination Companies (SEAME), told the Greek Radio and Television Corporation ERT that the country is on "high alert" due to bedbugs, which are frequently seen especially in touristic areas.
