Instead of indulging in junk food, she opted to create her own nut butters to satisfy her sweet cravings without causing any adverse reactions. “Not only did this help me satisfy my sweet tooth, but it also positively impacted my body composition,” she shared. Once a personal trainer, Hurley integrated her nut butters into her clients’ routines, and they experienced similar results. Encouraged by her husband, despite initial reluctance, her nut butters became a hit at a bodybuilding competition. The demand grew, prompting her to start selling them herself.
Posting her nut butters on social media led to a significant increase in followers, with the business gaining momentum. The company, named American Dream Nut Butter, reached a milestone of a million online sales in July 2024. Hurley described their journey as a testament to living the American dream through hard work and seizing opportunities.
Hurley emphasized the importance of high-quality ingredients and precise ratios in creating her products. Prioritizing taste authenticity without resorting to artificial sweeteners, she aimed to replicate the real thing as closely as possible. American Dream Nut Butter not only offers a variety of treats but also strives to support various groups, including veterans through their “American Heroes” program.
Ultimately, Hurley’s journey from creating nut butters for personal use to running a successful business symbolizes the essence of the American dream – a story of resilience, dedication, and faith in the possibilities of hard work and opportunity.
“We send care packages to those in need. We do 100 of those a month,” she stated.
Overseas troops are the recipients of “a big box full of goodies” alongside nut butters and other American Dream products. “One of the things the troops mentioned missing from home was junk food,” Hurley shared.
The founder of American Dream’s “American Heroes” program revealed that they dispatch 100 care packages monthly to troops, veterans, and first responders. “So, in addition to our nut butters, we include items like Doritos, Pop-Tarts, cookies, and all the requested goodies, along with some enjoyable activities such as crosswords to help pass the time.”
By creating nut butters that strike a balance between being nutritious and delicious, Hurley expressed that she has found what she believes is a divine gift. “I’m not entirely sure how I manage it,” she admitted. “I believe that everyone has distinct gifts from a higher power, and this is mine. It wasn’t until I embarked on the American Dream journey that I realized, ‘My goodness, I do possess a God-given talent.'”
