The adolescent tumbled to the ground, sustaining a severe laceration to the back of his head and an arm injury. Despite the ordeal, he remained alert and conscious following the incident.
A witness recounted that she was attending to her mailbox in the vicinity when she heard the impact. According to her statement to authorities, the individual responsible, later identified as Wright, emerged from her vehicle post-collision to inspect the condition of the youth. Subsequently, she returned to her truck, concealing her license plate with paper and tape. However, the witness was able to discern the initial character of the license plate. Additionally, a residential Ring camera captured the truck as it departed from the scene.
Both the victim and the witness furnished law enforcement with a detailed depiction of the perpetrator. Through swift action, officials managed to pinpoint a suspect vehicle on a nearby License Plate Reader camera within a matter of minutes. Wright was apprehended in Flagler County with support from the Florida Highway Patrol and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
In a tragic turn of events, a deputy in Florida lost his life during a routine traffic stop. The suspect involved was subsequently deceased.
Sarah Wright was then incarcerated at Flagler County Jail on a bond of $3,500. The young victim necessitated staples for the laceration as well as medical care for the arm injury, although a full recovery is anticipated.
