Vassiliou, 26, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted kidnapping and burglary. The harrowing incident, which took place on January 23, 2024, was recorded by Alvarez’s doorbell camera. Lex was returning home from a walk with the family dogs when Vassiliou, wearing a mask and gloves, emerged from a staircase and violently attempted to abduct her.
Despite being injured in the struggle, Adriana Alvarez bravely fought off Vassiliou as he tried to take Lex. The fierce confrontation continued down four flights of stairs, with Alvarez ultimately preventing the kidnapping and saving her daughter. Lex, miraculously unharmed, emerged from the ordeal physically unscathed.
