The Storm Prediction Center has said that there is a 3 out of 5 risk of severe thunderstorms in several states, including Kentucky, Tennessee, eastern Arkansas, northern Mississippi, and northern Alabama. There is a risk of strong tornadoes in cities like Memphis, Nashville, Lexington and Birmingham.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has told people that NOAA radio services will be off for a few days because of a planned system update.

Severe weather is expected this afternoon and tonight. This means strong, damaging winds and possibly tornadoes. Wind speeds of up to 70 mph are possible.
