Fan-Favorite Girl Scout Cookies Discontinued!

With holiday cookie supplies dwindling, it’s time to start preparing your freezer space for the next big moment in treats: Girl Scout Cookie season. In many parts of the country, if you’re lucky, America’s Girl Scouts have begun setting up local stands to sell their delicious cookies. We all have our fan-favorite Girl Scout Cookie that we order every year—from Tagalongs (or Peanut Butter Patties as they’re known to some) to Thin Mints and Adventurefuls. However, this year, some cookie fans will be disappointed to learn that the Girl Scouts’ cookie lineup is losing two flavors.

S’mores and Toast-Yay! Girl Scout Cookies Are Being Discontinued

As Girl Scout Cookie season begins, the organization has announced that it will discontinue its S’mores and Toast-Yay! flavors after this year.

Both the retiring flavors are only available in select areas—as the Girl Scouts use two different manufacturers. The S’mores cookies are made by Little Brownie Bakers, while the Toast-Yay! cookies are made by ABC Bakers. So, if you don’t even know what a Toast-Yay! is, or if you call them Tagalongs instead of Peanut Butter Patties and Samoas instead of Caramel deLites, it’s because your Girl Scouts use Little Brownie Bakers—and vice versa.

The Girl Scouts introduced the S’mores cookie, a graham sandwich cookie filled with chocolate and marshmallow, in 2017 as part of its 100-year anniversary celebration. The S’mores cookie became the most popular launch in brand history—overshadowing the Chocolate-Coated S’mores Cookie, which was released alongside it and hasn’t been seen since.

The breakfast-inspired Toast-Yay! cookie, a French toast-flavored shortbread dipped in icing and shaped like a piece of toast, joined the lineup in 2021.

It’s unclear why the Girl Scouts are discontinuing the two flavors after the 2025 season. However, it might be due to a lack of demand.

“Is anyone actually selling Toast-Yays this year? Our troop has sold over 3,000 boxes so far, and of that, only 35 of them were Toast-Yays,” a Reddit user posted in 2024.

“We have the S’mores here and they rarely sell,” another user commented.

Additionally, after the Girl Scouts raised its prices in 2024, the S’mores cookies rang in at a whopping $6 per box—as compared to the $5 per box for the rest of the lineup.

The two cookies will have one final hurrah this season, which runs through April. You can find out more about your local Girl Scout troop’s selling timeline on the Girl Scouts’ website.

Along with the S’mores and Toast-Yay! cookies, the Girl Scouts will sell Thin Mints, Samoas/Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs,
