Family of Maryland man found dead during Bahamas vacation afraid evidence will d!

The family of the Maryland music producer who was found dead during a vacation at a resort in the Bahamas continues to insist that he was murdered, despite officials attributing his death to drowning. Frustrated relatives of Dinari McAlmont are calling for international assistance, as his mother has been denied access to his body a week after his tragic passing. Marcelle Bacchus, McAlmont’s aunt, shared the distress her sister has faced while seeking answers about her son’s death when he was discovered lifeless on a beach on April 5. Bacchus expressed her sister’s frustration in a Facebook post on Friday, stating that she has yet to see her son. The family is concerned about the lack of transparency, with cameras not permitted in the morgue, raising fears that crucial evidence may be lost. McAlmont was found deceased on Paradise Island in the Bahamas on April 5, 2025. He had arrived on the island for a vacation with his parents at the Atlantis Paradise Bahamas resort. The family dined together, and McAlmont mentioned feeling cold and wanting to retrieve a jacket before exploring the resort shortly before 9 p.m. His lifeless body was discovered around 5:30 a.m. the following day on the shoreline of Paradise Island, after being reported missing by his parents at 11 p.m. Officials determined his cause of death as drowning and ruled out foul play. A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death as drowning, according to the Royal Bahamas Police Force. The grieving family faced delays in releasing McAlmont’s body to the funeral parlor due to a clerical error in the morgue misspelling his name. McAlmont’s mother, Michelle McAlmont, saw a photo of her son’s body, describing it as “beaten” and expressing a strong belief that foul play was involved. She insisted that her son did not drown but was attacked. Allegations surfaced that McAlmont had been involved in an altercation with restaurant staff at the resort, leading to claims that he had spat on some workers. The family remains steadfast in their belief that McAlmont’s death was not accidental and are seeking justice for their loved one.

On April 7, Chelle McAlmont stated that family members set up a GoFundMe campaign to gather funds for legal costs in order to seek accountability in the wake of McAlmont’s passing. The fundraiser expressed, “Dinari was a gentle and caring individual who impacted the lives of numerous people. He has left behind a heritage of love and resilience that we are dedicated to safeguarding. Each contribution, regardless of its amount, helps us advance towards achieving justice.”
