A family of three visiting the United States has been missing for over a week, according to Arizona officials. The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking information on the whereabouts of Jiyeon Lee, 33, Taehee Kim, 59, and Junghee Kim, 54. The family was last seen traveling in a white BMW with California license plates on their way from the Grand Canyon area to Las Vegas on March 13. Cellphone pings and GPS data show their last known location on westbound Interstate 40 around 3:30 p.m. that day. There were multiple crashes on the same day due to a snowstorm, and it is unknown if their vehicle was involved in any of them. Two people died in a pile-up involving over 20 vehicles, and some burned vehicles are difficult to identify. The sheriff’s office has conducted extensive searches but has not located the missing family. Concerns arose when the family failed to board their flight back to South Korea on March 17 as scheduled. The South Korean consulate in Los Angeles has filed a missing persons report and is working closely with authorities to locate the family.
