A disturbing incident unfolded in Florida as a car was engulfed in flames, resulting in the tragic death of a woman believed to have been intentionally targeted by her own husband. Surveillance footage obtained by NBC 6 captured the heart-stopping moment when the vehicle, parked along a street in the Hialeah Gardens suburb of Miami, suddenly erupted into a fiery explosion just prior to 6 a.m. on February 1st.
The blast that took place outside the residence of Noel Ruiz Mestre, a 50-year-old man, was allegedly caused by a homemade bomb deliberately detonated by him while his wife sat in the passenger seat. The identity of the victim, who lost her life in this horrific event, has not been publicly disclosed.
According to authorities, prior to the explosion, a heated argument had escalated inside the car between the couple. Tragically, the wife’s attempts to exit the vehicle were thwarted, leaving her trapped as the situation spiraled out of control. Moments later, Ruiz Mestre emerged from the car and reportedly set off the explosive device near the vehicle, resulting in his wife being discovered inside, her body severely burned beyond recognition.
Following the blast, the suspect retreated into his home, where he changed his attire and inflicted a self-inflicted stab wound to his abdomen before fleeing the scene. However, suffering from injuries sustained during the incident, he eventually reached out to emergency services for assistance, leading to his subsequent hospitalization in critical condition due to burns inflicted by the explosion.
Noel Ruiz Mestre now faces serious charges of second-degree murder and arson in connection with the tragic events that transpired that fateful morning. Authorities have indicated that once he recuperates, he will be placed under arrest and brought to face justice for his alleged actions.
A neighbor named Miguel Hernandez recounted being startled from his sleep by the deafening sound of the explosion, which jolted him awake.
