According to Iran's official news agency IRNA, Ribatkerim District Governor Umid Ahmadi gave information on the issue.
Ahmadi said, "An explosion occurred due to a problem in the line supplying natural gas to the turbine. 1 person died and 4 people were injured." He said.
The Perend Thermal Power Plant, southwest of the capital Tehran, produces electricity from natural gas.
