The official “Friends” YouTube channel recently uploaded the first two episodes of “Joey,” a spinoff series focusing on Matt LeBlanc’s charismatic character Joey Tribbiani. This marks the first time “Joey” has been available since its debut in 2004. The show stars LeBlanc, Drea de Matteo, Paulo Costanzo, Jennifer Coolidge, and Andrea Anders. The series follows Joey as he leaves New York for Hollywood to advance his acting career, reuniting with his high-strung sister Gina and his genius nephew Michael along the way. “Joey” aired for 46 episodes over two seasons from 2004 to 2006. Created by Shana Goldberg-Meehan and Scott Silveri, the show initially drew in a large audience for its pilot episode but saw a decline in viewership throughout its run. Despite being placed in the Thursday night slot following “Friends,” the show was later moved to Tuesdays and eventually canceled. Friends co-creator Kevin S. Bright expressed his disappointment in the direction Joey’s character took on the spinoff series.
