A team of researchers led by archaeologist Steinar Solheim from the University of Oslo has determined that these fragments, dating back approximately 2,000 years, were once part of a single engraved stone, possibly worked on by multiple individuals. The runes etched on these stones present a challenge in deciphering their meanings and compositions, blurring the lines between writing and symbolism.
The unique characteristics of the Hole rune stone, including its multiple runic sequences and intricate visual elements, have captured the attention of experts.
