The ex-Massachusetts state trooper, who was terminated for his involvement in the Karen Read case, dismissed claims of corruption and framing as “absurd.” In an interview with “Dateline,” Michael Proctor adamantly denied any wrongdoing, stating there was no evidence to support such accusations. Read was acquitted of several serious charges relating to the death of her boyfriend, Officer John O’Keefe. Proctor, the lead investigator in the case, faced accusations of bias and corruption from Read’s defense team during the trials. The defense argued that Proctor manipulated key evidence to incriminate Read, including a cracked taillight on her SUV. Despite the controversy surrounding his conduct, Proctor maintains his innocence and denies any misconduct.
