Enigmatic Snowstorm Paralyzes Denver Highways Overnight

Sergeant Ian Davis from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office took to social media around 1 a.m. Friday, delivering a grave warning to drivers regarding the tumultuous weather conditions. “It’s snowing. I mean, really coming down with no signs of easing up,” he emphasized. “Snowplows are diligently working across the county. The roads are treacherous with snow and ice, and we’ve issued an accident alert. If you can, please stay put, relax with a cup of cocoa, enjoy a movie, or tackle a challenging puzzle.”

The FOX Forecast Center predicted that the snowfall would gradually subside by mid-morning. Nevertheless, snow-laden roads spanning from the I-70 mountain corridor through the southern foothills and along the I-25 Corridor from Denver southward to the Palmer Divide were anticipated to pose challenges throughout the day.

A detailed analysis of the I-25 forecast stretching from Colorado to Wyoming was conducted. Additionally, the Colorado Department of Transportation announced scheduled traffic halts on Friday morning along I-70 and U.S. Highway 6 near the Eisenhower tunnels for winter maintenance and snow clearance, leading to expected delays of up to 20 minutes.
