“For all those still on their journey, grappling to find their path, in whatever field you pursue: Just because it hasn’t transpired yet doesn’t mean it’s not unfolding,” shared Moore. “So, persist and believe that dreams do materialize.”
Among the finalists in the same category were Cynthia Erivo from “Wicked,” Karla Sofía Gascón from “Emilia Pérez,” Marianne Jean-Baptiste from “Hard Truths,” Mikey Madison from “Anora,” and Angelina Jolie from “Maria.”
Demi Moore clinched her inaugural major accolade at the Golden Globes. During last month’s prestigious event, Moore received her first significant industry recognition and delivered a poignant, emotional speech. Approaching the platform, she expressed her utter astonishment.
Recalling a conversation from three decades ago when a producer labeled her a “popcorn actress,” implying she could feature in successful films but might never receive acknowledgment for them. “At those moments when we feel inadequate in intelligence, appearance, body size, success, or essentially just not measuring up, I had a woman tell me, recognize that you’ll never be ‘enough,’ but you can understand the worth you possess by discarding the measuring stick,” she articulated. “Hence, today, I commemorate this award as a symbol of my completeness, the love propelling me, and as a testament to pursuing something I love and being reassured that I belong.”
Moore is in the running for the Best Actress award at this year’s Academy Awards, scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on March 2.
