Emergency Aid Rush to Gaza as Egypt Prepares for Delivery!

Egyptian government officials conducted an inspection on Saturday to assess the preparations for delivering relief aid to the neighboring Gaza Strip. This inspection took place just one day before a ceasefire and hostage release agreement between Israel and Hamas was scheduled to come into effect.

The ministers of health and social solidarity from Egypt visited the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing with Gaza, as well as a logistics area where around 600 aid trucks were stationed, according to reports from local officials. During their visit, the ministers also toured hospitals and medical facilities in North Sinai, which are being readied to provide care for the wounded individuals arriving from Gaza. This information was reported by Egypt’s state-linked al-Qahera News broadcaster.

In addition to their visits to medical facilities, the ministers inspected the equipment of the Egyptian Red Crescent and its logistical warehouses in the province, which is located in the Sinai Peninsula. Health Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghafar expressed that Egypt is fully prepared to receive the injured Palestinians who will be departing from Gaza in the upcoming days.

A significant event that impacted aid deliveries to Gaza occurred in May of the previous year when Israel assumed control of the Gaza side of the Rafah crossing with Egypt. This operation resulted in a temporary halt to aid shipments through this crucial facility into the densely populated coastal strip.
