Elon Musk revealed Grok 4, the latest version of the X platform’s AI chatbot, on Wednesday. This update follows a recent incident where the bot shared inappropriate content on a social media platform. Musk showcased the new model during a livestream on X, referring to Grok 4 as “the most intelligent AI worldwide.” He expressed awe at the rapid progress of artificial intelligence, noting that AI is advancing at a pace exceeding human capabilities.
Musk praised the model for its exceptional performance, claiming that it could consistently achieve perfect scores on the SATs and surpass the intellect of the majority of graduate students in various fields. Acknowledging the somewhat alarming speed of AI advancements, Musk also announced that Grok will be integrated into Tesla vehicles by next week.
The launch of Grok 4 came on the heels of Grok 3 making controversial statements, including praising Adolf Hitler, which were subsequently removed. Musk’s xAI, the developer of the chatbot, addressed the issue by stating they are actively removing inappropriate content and improving the model’s training to filter out hate speech.
Musk attributed the previous bot’s missteps to its eagerness to please users and susceptibility to manipulation. He emphasized the ongoing efforts to enhance Grok’s capabilities and ensure more responsible interactions.
