Tech innovator Elon Musk has just unveiled a groundbreaking creation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The enigmatic tech titan has announced that xAI’s Grok 3 chatbot, which he dubs as the “smartest AI on Earth,” is set to make its debut with a live demonstration on Monday. This unveiling comes in the wake of China’s DeepSeek causing a stir in the markets back in January.
Musk shared the news about the highly-anticipated Grok 3 chatbot in a post on X, hinting at the chatbot’s remarkable intelligence. Scheduled for release with a live demo at 8 p.m. PT on Monday, Musk seems eager to showcase the capabilities of this chatbot to the world.
During a virtual appearance at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Musk hinted that the release of the product was imminent, suggesting they were only “a week or two” away from launching. Emphasizing the importance of providing an exceptional user experience, Musk indicated a desire not to rush the release.
However, Musk appears to have changed course and decided to move forward with an earlier release. In his post on X, he mentioned that he would be refining the product with his team over the weekend and would be offline until then.
Teasing the audience in Dubai, Musk described Grok 3 as surpassing existing AI models in terms of performance during tests, praising its “scary smart” capabilities. Trained on synthetic data, the chatbot has the ability to assess the data for logical consistency and adjust accordingly, ensuring accurate and reliable responses.
The unveiling of Grok 3 comes on the heels of the Chinese AI startup DeepSeek’s disruptive entry into the market with its R1 flagship AI model, which claims to rival the reasoning capabilities of prominent US models at a lower cost.
Musk’s AI venture, xAI, established in 2023, previously introduced the Grok 2 language model in August 2024. With plans to expand its team significantly, xAI aims to recruit thousands of individuals this year to assist in training its chatbot, signaling a new chapter in the evolution of AI technology.
