Shiplett, known for roles in Love Life and High Maintenance, also hinted at their relationship on her Instagram Stories. Page, who publicly came out as gay in 2014 and as trans in December 2020, has been open about his personal life, including past relationships with Kate Mara and Olivia Thirlby. Page and his ex-wife, Emma Portner, parted ways in January 2021 after three years of marriage. In a statement, they announced their divorce amicably.
