This weekend, another round of rain is affecting the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. Expect around 1-2 inches of rain from Richmond, Virginia, up to New York City and Boston through Sunday, as per the FOX Forecast Center. Alongside the rain, residents on the East Coast will encounter chilly temperatures, with highs struggling to reach 50 degrees on Saturday. In higher elevations, the precipitation may even fall as snow.
Looking ahead, parts of the Ohio Valley are preparing for rain and possible severe thunderstorms to mark the start of Easter week. A swift cold front is forecasted to sweep through the region on Monday, posing a risk for severe weather in cities across Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Damaging winds are the primary concern, although heavy rain and isolated tornadoes are also potential threats.
On a celestial note, Saturday will showcase the Pink Moon, the first full Moon of spring and also classified as a micromoon. This phenomenon occurs when the Moon is at its farthest point from Earth in its orbit, known as apogee. The Pink Moon will reach its fullest at 8:22 p.m. ET on Saturday, just ahead of Palm Sunday.
