Dragons’ Den Star Sara Davies Takes a Leap of Faith in Career Shift

Sara Davies, the dynamic entrepreneur known for her role as a Dragon on the hit TV show “Dragons’ Den,” has surprised fans with a significant career move. The ambitious businesswoman has revealed that she will be stepping away from the renowned series for the remainder of the year to concentrate on her personal venture.

Davies made history as the youngest female Dragon on the show when she joined the panel at the age of 35 in 2019. Her decision to temporarily exit the Den was shared in a statement on her Instagram account, where she disclosed her plans to shift her focus to her crafting company, which she established back in 2005.

While fans can still catch Davies in the latter part of the ongoing series, which has already been filmed, the wording of her announcement has left the door open for a potential return in the future. The BBC has yet to announce who will fill her seat in the Den going forward.

In her heartfelt post, Davies expressed her gratitude for the enriching experiences she had as a Dragon and the pride she felt in the businesses she had supported. Emphasizing her dedication to her role as CEO of Crafter’s Companion, she underscored the importance of wholeheartedly investing in her own business endeavors.

She expressed her regret at not being able to film the upcoming series with the team, signifying her commitment to her personal enterprise.

The UK version of “Dragons’ Den,” which premiered in 2005, showcases entrepreneurs pitching their business ideas to a panel of affluent investors. The show has spawned international adaptations, including the popular US iteration “Shark Tank.”

In addition to her role in “Dragons’ Den,” Davies has graced the screens of other TV shows, including a stint on “Strictly Come Dancing,” authoring a memoir, and hosting programs like “Ultimate Wedding Planners” and “The Big Idea Works.” Her upcoming project includes hosting a thrilling quiz show titled “Time Is Money” on ITV.
