A husband and wife from Georgia were taken into custody nearly 25 years after a man was discovered deceased in his truck at a Wendy’s parking lot, as reported by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on Monday. The victim, Travis Silvers, was found dead inside his vehicle at the fast-food restaurant in Adairsville, Georgia on the morning of March 10, 2001, according to a news release from the bureau. Initial reports indicated that he had suffered a gunshot wound to the head, with no weapons found in the vehicle. The cause of Silvers’ death was not officially confirmed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Details from a brief obituary stated that he was 51 years old at the time of his passing.
The investigation into this case has been ongoing for over two decades, as per the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Gary Fowler, aged 74, and Mary Fowler, aged 73, residents of Chatsworth, Georgia, approximately 34 miles from Adairsville, were apprehended on Friday, April 11. Both individuals have been charged with murder in relation to Silvers’ death and are presently being held at the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Jail. No bail has been established, according to jail records available online.
