Decades-Long Mystery: Man Missing Since 1996 Reappears?

A man who vanished almost 30 years ago after a camping trip would have turned 59. Stephen Michael Cole, aged 30 at the time, returned from a Wales camping excursion. He mentioned going out for a drink on June 23, 1996, after a friend helped him with his camping gear.

West Midlands Police are seeking information on Mr. Cole’s whereabouts to unravel the mystery of his disappearance. He failed to meet his parents as planned, and his tent and sleeping bag were missing when he was discovered absent from his Walsall home.

There has been no sign of life from Mr. Cole since he was last seen. The police speculate that he may have returned to Wales with his camping gear, but this remains unconfirmed. Described as an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed climbing, walking, and camping, Mr. Cole was reported to be in good spirits when he left his residence on Dora Street, Pleck.

Standing at 5ft 9in with blue eyes and well-groomed brown hair, Mr. Cole was last dressed in blue jeans, tan boots, and a bright pink short-sleeved polo neck jumper, along with a gold ring and bracelet on his right hand. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
