Law enforcement and forensic experts conducted an investigation at a residence on Stream Street in Downpatrick following a violent incident. A 26-year-old man, identified as Jason Rhodes from the same address, has been brought before Belfast Magistrates Court on charges of attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of two women in County Down. The authorities were alerted to the attack, which involved a man armed with two knives targeting the women at 08:30 GMT on Friday. One of the victims, a 35-year-old woman, sustained a severe knife wound to her neck and injuries to her head and face, while a woman in her 50s suffered stab wounds. Both women were hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. In addition to the attempted murder charge, Rhodes faces accusations of possessing an offensive weapon with intent to commit a crime, as well as the possession of class A and B substances and assaulting a police officer. Rhodes acknowledged the charges in court and bail was not requested. He will be held in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for April 10th.
