Citibank Customers Report Fraud Alerts and Account Access Issues!

A significant number of Citibank customers have reported encountering issues with fraud alerts and account access on Wednesday. As per reports from DownDetector.com, which monitors disruptions in digital services, numerous Citibank users have raised concerns about account-related problems since midday. The disruptions appear to have persisted since at least 9 a.m. Eastern time. On the social media platform X, some customers shared their experiences of receiving fraud alerts and facing prolonged wait times when contacting the bank’s fraud department. Additionally, several users mentioned difficulties in accessing their mobile accounts. In response to the situation, a Citi spokesperson acknowledged, “We are currently facing technical challenges with Citi’s mobile app experience, and are actively working to address them. For any immediate service requirements during this period, customers can still access their accounts on Citi.com or reach out using the contact details provided on their cards or monthly statements.” Throughout Wednesday afternoon, representatives from the bank have been engaging with customer complaints on social media, with one representative posting on X, “We are actively addressing this issue and recommend trying to call again in another 1-2 hours.” Earlier on Wednesday, Citi announced financial results that surpassed analysts’ expectations, with several business segments achieving record revenues.
