Chiefs Star Xavier Worthy Arrested for Domestic Assault!

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy was taken into custody on Friday on a charge of domestic assault, as confirmed by local authorities. The 21-year-old athlete was arrested in Georgetown, Texas, and is facing a third-degree felony charge for impeding the breathing of a family or household member, according to records from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. This charge involves applying pressure to the throat or neck, or blocking the nose or mouth, with potential consequences ranging from two to 10 years of imprisonment.

According to a report by CBS News affiliate KCTV, Worthy’s legal representatives, Chip Lewis and Sam Bassett, released a statement asserting his innocence. They claimed that the allegation stemmed from a woman living in Worthy’s Texas residence who had refused to leave after being confronted about infidelity. The statement alleged that the woman vandalized the property, physically assaulted Worthy, and falsely accused him of the reported offense. Despite this, Worthy expressed no desire to press charges against the woman.

Worthy, a rising star in the NFL, was chosen in the first round of the 2024 draft and had a promising rookie season with the Chiefs. He played a significant role in the team’s journey to the Super Bowl, demonstrating his talent as a wide receiver. The NFL and the Chiefs have been made aware of the situation, and the league is reportedly monitoring developments closely.

As the legal proceedings unfold, more information may come to light regarding the incident leading to Worthy’s arrest. For now, the athlete’s future in the league remains uncertain pending further investigation and resolution of the allegations.
