“Customer Causes Chaos by Ramming into Store”
A CarMax store in Inglewood, California, experienced chaos on Saturday afternoon when a customer rammed into the building, resulting in injuries to at least eight people. The Inglewood Police Department is investigating the incident as an intentional act.
The police responded to the scene on S. La Cienega Boulevard after the customer exited the building, got into a vehicle, and drove into the store. The motive behind the act is believed to be a “business dispute.” Video footage of the crash shows a silver Subaru backing into the store through one doorway and then exiting through another.
The crash left eight individuals injured, with two in critical condition and taken to nearby hospitals by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. CarMax confirmed that the suspect was a customer who had been at the store to have his vehicle appraised.
In a statement, CarMax expressed concern for its employees and customers, with two employees receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and several customers also hospitalized. The company emphasized its commitment to safety and stated that it is cooperating with authorities in the investigation.
The driver left the scene but later turned himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department and was arrested on multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon. Inglewood police have not provided further details at this time.
