Sheryl Crow, the renowned superstar known for her love of basking in the sun and enjoying a good time, has decided to part ways with Elon Musk. This left-leaning country music sensation, famous for chart-toppers like “Soak Up The Sun” and “All I Want to Do,” has made the bold move to bid adieu to her electric car, a favorite among environmentally conscious individuals, due to Musk’s ties to President Donald Trump.
In a recent Instagram post, Crow can be seen standing on the roadside as her car is being towed away. She bids farewell with a wave while the melodic strains of Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman’s “Time To Say Goodbye” fill the air. In her caption, Crow reflects, “My parents always said… you are who you hang out with. There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla.”
Continuing her stance, Crow adds, “Money donated to @npr, which is under threat by President Musk, in hopes that the truth will continue to find its way to those willing to know the truth.”
These sentiments stem from Musk’s involvement in Washington during Trump’s second term in office. Musk aims to revolutionize the American government by significantly reducing the size and influence of federal departments and agencies.
Musk, the wealthiest individual globally, currently leads Trump’s newly established Department of Government Efficiency, also known as DOGE. Crow has openly criticized Trump, expressing her concerns that he is detrimental to the nation in an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald back in 2017.
“How can someone work tirelessly every single day to ensure the country remains divided? It breaks my heart,” she lamented, highlighting her belief that Trump’s actions undermine the very essence of America.
Crow further remarked, “I think most of the things he stands for are completely contradictory to the core principles on which the US was founded, the aspirations of the nation’s pioneers, and the sacrifices made by the community that built this nation.”
Sheryl Crow’s unwavering stance against Elon Musk’s associations with the Trump administration underscores her commitment to her values and beliefs. The video of her bidding farewell to her Tesla car serves as a poignant statement of her principles.
