Cavaliers Star Donovan Mitchell’s Ankle Gametime Decision!

Cleveland Cavaliers’ standout player, Donovan Mitchell, underwent an MRI on Monday following an exit from Sunday’s Game 4 defeat against the Indiana Pacers due to a left ankle injury. ESPN confirmed on Monday that the scan revealed a reaggravation of the injury, making Mitchell’s availability uncertain for Game 5 on Tuesday night. Mitchell was sidelined for the second half of Sunday’s game, where the Cavaliers fell behind 80-39 at halftime. The top-seeded Cavaliers now trail 3-1 in the Eastern Conference semifinal series, with Indiana having the opportunity to clinch the series in Cleveland. Cavaliers’ coach Kenny Atkinson expressed uncertainty about Mitchell’s status for the upcoming game on Tuesday. Mitchell, who had delivered impressive performances in previous games, suffered discomfort in his ankle during warm-ups for the second half and was subsequently evaluated by the medical staff. The 28-year-old guard did not return to the game after receiving treatment in the locker room. Mitchell’s contributions have been significant throughout the series, averaging 34.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.8 steals in four starts, following standout performances in Game 2 and Game 3.
