Linda Stermer, a Michigan woman, has been convicted of murdering her husband in a horrific incident that took place in 2007. Reports indicate that she set her husband, Todd Stermer, on fire and then ran him over with a van, resulting in his death. Linda Stermer has been found guilty of two counts of murder and has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The tragic events unfolded after Todd discovered that his wife was having an affair. Linda Stermer, aged 60 at the time, doused her husband in gasoline and ignited him in flames. She then proceeded to run him over with a van while attempting to flee the scene. Todd lost his life in their yard at the age of 42.

During the trial, the Stermers’ adult children and nephew, whom the couple had raised, testified against Linda Stermer. Their son Trevor described the argument between his parents as the most intense they had ever witnessed. He revealed that his mother had instructed them to lie in order to cover up the murder, asking them to downplay the severity of the incident.

Linda Stermer was previously convicted of her husband’s murder in 2010, but was released in 2018 after her defense team successfully appealed the initial conviction due to misconduct by the prosecutor and ineffective defense representation. Throughout the legal proceedings, she has maintained that the incident was an accident, claiming that she unintentionally ran over her husband while trying to escape the fire.

After seven hours of deliberation, Linda Stermer was found guilty of the murder. Following the trial, Todd’s friend Larry Norris remembered him as a positive and caring individual who was deeply loved by his family and children.
