California Fire Captain Fatally Stabbed Woman Arrested in Mexico!

Woman Arrested in Mexico for Allegedly Fatally Stabbing California Fire Captain

A woman, believed to have fatally stabbed her spouse who was a California fire captain, has been apprehended in Mexico, authorities in the country revealed on Saturday. Identified as Yolanda Marodi, also known as Yolanda Olejniczak, she was taken into custody close to a hotel in the Mexican state of Baja California, as announced by the State Citizen Security Force in a press release.

Yolanda Olejniczak is the prime suspect in the fatal stabbing of 49-year-old Rebecca Marodi, which took place inside their home near Ramona, California, located approximately 40 miles northeast of San Diego on February 17th.

Cal Fire fire captain Marodi’s wife, Olejniczak, apparently attacked her after discovering Marodi’s intention to leave her. The incident was captured on a Ring home security camera, as described in court documents filed in San Diego County Superior Court.

In the footage, Rebecca Marodi can be seen being pursued across the patio by Olejniczak, pleading for her life, while Olejniczak brandished a knife. Blood was observed on both individuals, and afterwards, Olejniczak was seen loading belongings into a vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Olejniczak, who had a previous conviction for the killing of her former spouse, had been suspected to have fled the country soon after the recent incident. The arrest in Mexico was the result of collaboration between Mexican and American authorities.

This tragic event is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence, and the importance of seeking help in such situations.
