Bride’s ‘Last Romp in the Swamp’ Bachelorette Bash!

The event, which took place at a local Airbnb, featured a lively Shrek-themed ambiance with corresponding food, beverages, activities, and decorations. Attendees engaged in a playful rendition of “Pin the Tail on the Donkey,” adapted to incorporate the likeness of Donkey with the face of Garza’s fiancé. The walls were adorned with “WANTED” posters depicting Shrek, The Three Little Pigs, and other characters from the beloved fairytale. Guests posed for humorous snapshots against two distinct backdrops – one showcasing a whimsical portrayal of Shrek with the caption “Get Out of My Swamp” and another displaying a festive banner declaring the party motto, “Last Romp in the Swamp.”

Garza elaborated on the decor choices, noting the incorporation of the signature Shrek green hue alongside pink accents for a touch of femininity. Wooden table coverings, dangling pink bows, and decorative elements like sunflowers, slugs, and onions were strategically placed throughout the venue. The culinary offerings included a selection of finger foods such as waffles, chicken nuggets, pigs in a blanket, and a charcuterie board. Custom-designed Shrek-themed sugar cookies were a highlight, featuring intricate frosting designs resembling characters from the film like Fiona and the Gingerbread Man, as well as playful phrases like “Once upon a time, there was a princess named Aileen,” “Aileen’s Last Romp in the Swamp,” and “Same Farts Forever.”

The mini potion bottles filled with mixed drinks were a standout feature at the gathering, with attendees enjoying concoctions like the green “Get Shrek’d” beverage and the pink “Fiona’s Love Potion.” Garza shared her inspiration for the unconventional theme, citing a desire for a lighthearted and amusing celebration that deviated from traditional bachelorette party norms.

The event was expertly organized by Garza’s older sister, Gina, who also held the role of maid of honor. With assistance from their other siblings, Daisy Jardine and Aimee Hernandez, the sisters orchestrated a memorable and enchanting affair for the bride-to-be. Following the festivities at the Airbnb, the group continued the revelry at clubs in Old Town Scottsdale, injecting a playful nod to the whimsical world of Shrek.

Garza, set to exchange vows with Matthew Bell on March 12 in a private ceremony at Tuileries Garden in Paris, France, reflected on the profound themes of love and self-acceptance embedded within the Shrek films. The couple, who met through their high school swim team and became romantically involved during their college years, are eagerly anticipating the release of Shrek 5 on July 1, 2026, which they will enjoy as newlyweds.

The bride’s choice of a Shrek-themed bachelorette party, inspired by viral TikTok videos and the heartwarming messages of the animated franchise, underscored her personal values and beliefs about love.
