Breathtaking Images of Eclipse Capture Moon’s Celestial Bite!

A partial solar eclipse was visible in the northeastern U.S., Canada, Europe, and western Africa on Saturday. Here is the perspective from Nuuk, Greenland, on March 29, 2025. Sky gazers in specific regions, including the northeastern U.S., had the opportunity to witness a partial solar eclipse on Saturday morning. This partial eclipse, while not as dramatic or widely visible as last year’s Great North American Eclipse, offered a unique spectacle where the moon partially covered the sun, creating a crescent shape. Residents in 13 states, from West Virginia to Maine, could observe the partial solar eclipse from around 4:50 a.m. EDT to 8:43 a.m., according to Time and Date website. Described by Space.com as resembling the moon taking a “bite out of the sun,” a partial solar eclipse occurred not only in the U.S. but was also visible from eastern Canada to Europe and western Africa. Various photographs captured this celestial event from different parts of the world.

The partial solar eclipse commenced during the sunrise in the U.S. and appeared in the late morning for viewers in western Europe and northwestern Africa. As stated by NASA, observers in eastern Europe and northern Asia could witness the eclipse from the afternoon to early evening hours. Unlike a total solar eclipse, during which brief moments allow direct observation without eye protection, caution is advised for viewing a partial eclipse as the sun remains partially exposed.

Next year’s total eclipse, anticipated on August 12, 2026, will offer another remarkable astronomical event to look forward to.

According to NASA, the upcoming solar eclipse will be visible in Greenland, Iceland, Spain, Russia, and part of Portugal. A partial eclipse will also be seen in North America. The next lunar eclipse is expected on September 7-8, 2025, while a solar eclipse is anticipated on March 3, 2026. During the partial solar eclipse on March 29, 2025, two crows were spotted resting on a rooftop in Greenland’s capital, Nuuk. Various images captured the event, including views from Nuuk, Greenland.
