The Iranian Foreign Ministry has announced that the second round of indirect talks with the United States is scheduled to take place in Oman on Saturday, as reported by the official Islamic Republic News Agency. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, described the first round of talks as “well executed” in their initial stages in a post on his official X account on Tuesday. He emphasized that the red lines are clear for both sides. An Iranian delegation had recently visited Oman’s capital, Muscat, for discussions with U.S. officials on Tehran’s nuclear program. The White House confirmed that President Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, engaged in direct conversations with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, characterizing the talks as “very positive and constructive.” Despite this, Iran’s supreme leader cautioned against placing excessive expectations on the talks in Oman, urging officials not to tie the country’s issues solely to these negotiations. The talks will continue in Oman on Saturday, according to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
