Struggling tennis star Novak Djokovic has accepted a wild-card entry to compete in the upcoming Geneva Open this month, providing him with additional preparation on clay before the French Open. The 24-time Grand Slam champion and 99-time ATP Tour winner decided to skip the ongoing Italian Open, following a series of early exits in tournaments this year. Djokovic, 37, is aiming for his first tournament victory since the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and will be testing his skills at the ATP 250-level Geneva Open scheduled from May 17-24, just ahead of the Roland Garros action beginning on May 25. Currently ranked No. 6 in the world, Djokovic holds a 12-7 singles record in 2025 with disappointing losses in Madrid, Monte-Carlo, Indian Wells, and Doha. Despite reaching the final in Miami where he was defeated by Czech prodigy Jakub Mensik, Djokovic fell to Germany’s Alexander Zverev in the Australian Open semifinals earlier this year. Djokovic, who made it to the semifinals last year in Geneva, will turn 38 on May 22.
