Bogus Bouncer Faces Jail Time Unless He Pays 44k!

Trevor Frater, aged 64, was recently ordered to pay a sum of £44,518.78 during a court appearance at Lincoln Crown Court. He had been found guilty of running unlicensed security firms, Elite Security and Elite Door Staff, through which he provided unlicensed staff to companies in Lincolnshire. Frater had pleaded guilty in September 2024 to engaging in conduct not licensed by the private security industry act and had been sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended for 18 months. Despite claiming his assets were just over £390 following a previous conviction in 2021, a Security Industry Authority investigation revealed that he actually possessed more than £100,000. As a result, a confiscation order for £44,518.78 was issued during the recent court hearing, with Frater being given a deadline of 25 July to make the payment or face imprisonment. This marks the latest development in a series of convictions for similar offenses dating back to 2018 when his SIA license was revoked. Frater had previously been subject to a confiscation order in 2021 amounting to £33,979.51, and now, under the latest Proceeds of Crime Act order, he is required to repay this sum as well as an additional £10,539.27. The Security Industry Authority has strongly condemned Frater’s actions, emphasizing the danger he posed to public safety and the substantial profits he made from his illegal activities. The director of inspections and enforcement at the SIA warned others in the industry that they will not profit from their crimes, as the authority will track down hidden assets and recover them.
