Kirk, who initially agreed to a one-year deal worth $4.6 million in January, was set to enter arbitration next year and free agency after the 2026 season. The new contract includes a $6 million signing bonus, to be paid within 30 days of approval by the commissioner’s office, along with annual salaries of $7.5 million in 2026 and $11,125,000 in each of the following four seasons.
Kirk has been a consistent performer for the Blue Jays since his debut in 2020, boasting a career batting average of .264, a .344 on-base percentage, 36 home runs, and 187 RBIs, with last season’s stats at .253 average, .319 on-base percentage, five home runs, and 54 RBIs. His standout year was in 2022 when he earned a spot on the AL All-Star team, hitting .285 with a .372 on-base percentage, 14 homers, and 63 RBIs.
