Beloved character makes a return in upcoming sequel series.

Reports confirm that Oscar Nuñez is set to reprise his role as Oscar Martinez in the forthcoming follow-up series to “The Office” on Peacock. Although Nuñez will not be the central figure in this mockumentary sitcom, which exists in the same universe as its predecessor, he will be an integral part of the ensemble cast, having been included in the initial scripts of the show.
While specific details about Oscar’s character arc in the new series remain scarce, it is known that Greg Daniels, in collaboration with Michael Korman, is behind the creation and production of the show. Nuñez is currently the sole confirmed cast member from “The Office” who will feature in this spin-off project, tentatively titled the “Untitled Daniels/Korman Project.” However, given the shared universe, there is a possibility of other original characters making appearances.
The upcoming series, rumored to be named “The Paper,” will follow the employees of a struggling Midwestern newspaper as they attempt to revitalize it with the help of volunteer journalists. Set in a similar documentary style to “The Office,” the show will explore how Oscar finds himself in this new environment.
In addition to Nuñez, the cast includes Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key. Notable guest stars are also expected to make appearances in the series.
Production on the show is scheduled to commence in July, with Daniels, Korman, and other key figures from the original series serving as executive producers. Stay tuned for more updates as the series progresses.

Nuñez has achieved great success with his prominent roles in television and film, with streaming hits like “Lucky Hank,” “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist,” “Mr. Iglesias,” and “People of Earth.” He has also made significant contributions to the big screen with notable appearances in movies such as “The Proposal,” “Mascots,” and “The Lost City.” Furthermore, Nuñez is widely recognized as a spokesperson for State Farm.
