Steve Bannon, former chief strategist of President Trump, once again criticized tech billionaire Elon Musk for proposing the establishment of a third political party. On his podcast “War Room,” Bannon referred to Musk as “Elmo the Mook” and questioned his American identity, given his South African roots. Bannon has been engaged in a feud with Musk for some time, with the latter persisting in his idea of creating an “America Party.”
Musk, who owns multiple companies, reiterated his party proposal on social media, seeking input from his followers on whether to move forward with the America Party concept. This initiative emerged amid tensions between Musk and Trump that became public in June. The ongoing clash between Bannon and Musk has involved calls for deportation and accusations of betrayal.
As the disagreement between the two figures escalates, Musk has taken shots at Bannon by suggesting that he belongs in prison. In response, Bannon has criticized Musk, implying that his criminal past could catch up with him. Bannon himself spent time in prison for defying a congressional subpoena related to the Capitol attack in January 2021.
