Baltimore Pitcher Grayson Rodriguez Sidelined with Elbow Injury!

Baltimore right-hander Grayson Rodriguez is dealing with inflammation in his throwing elbow, leading to a shutdown period of up to 10 days. Manager Brandon Hyde confirmed this news, stating that Rodriguez has received a cortisone shot and is expected to resume a throwing program in 7 to 10 days. Earlier in the week, Hyde had already ruled Rodriguez out for the start of the season due to discomfort in his elbow.

Hyde informed reporters that Rodriguez is experiencing discomfort in the back of his elbow, and they are seeking multiple opinions on the matter. He clarified that it is not a ligament issue, alleviating concerns in that regard, but it will result in some missed playing time. The team is currently awaiting further test results and consulting with various medical professionals to determine the appropriate treatment plan. The exact timeline for Rodriguez’s return remains uncertain.

Rodriguez, who is 25 years old, put up impressive numbers last season with a 13-4 record, a 3.86 ERA, and 130 strikeouts in 20 starts for the Orioles. Baltimore is scheduled to kick off their season against Toronto on March 27.
