Armed Indiana Man Shot by Secret Service Near White House!

On January 10, 2023, a US Secret Service vehicle was stationed in front of the White House. The Secret Service responded to a report of an armed individual near the White House, resulting in a confrontation that led to shots being fired. The incident took place shortly after midnight at the intersection of 17th and G Streets NW in Washington, D.C.

Following a tip from local police about a potentially suicidal man from Indiana, Secret Service agents encountered the individual near the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, just one block away from the White House. The man brandished a firearm, prompting the agents to open fire. The man was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, while none of the Secret Service members sustained injuries.

At the time of the incident, President Donald Trump was located at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. The man, whose motives remain unclear, had reportedly traveled from Indiana to Washington, D.C. It was revealed that the DC Metropolitan Police’s Internal Affairs Division would be leading the investigation into the shooting.

This event echoes a previous incident in August 2020 during Trump’s first term, where a man was shot by the Secret Service after firing shots towards the White House. The president was unharmed and later returned to the White House press briefing room.
