Undocumented immigrant accused of murdering Georgia mother
52-year-old Camillia Williams, a mother of five and grandmother, was tragically killed in Marietta. The suspect, a 21-year-old man from Honduras, was in the United States illegally. Hector Sagastume Rivas crossed the border illegally over four years ago, as confirmed by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Authorities allege that Sagastume Rivas placed Williams in a chokehold and then knelt on her neck with his full body weight, resulting in her death. Her body was discovered hidden in a wooded area. Sagastume Rivas was arrested and is currently being held without bond. The victim’s family is seeking answers and justice for this senseless act. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp expressed sorrow over Williams’ tragic death and assured that justice will be served. ICE has issued an immigration detainer for Sagastume Rivas to ensure his custody during removal proceedings.
