Federal prosecutors have brought new charges against high-profile real estate moguls Oren, Tal, and Alon Alexander this week, marking a significant development in their case. The fresh charges, filed as part of a superseding indictment that supersedes the initial one, include additional allegations of sex trafficking, one involving a minor. The Alexander brothers, who gained recognition in New York’s luxury real estate market through their company, Alexander Group, have been under federal scrutiny since late 2024. They are accused of enticing women to nightclubs and gatherings, then drugging and sexually assaulting them. Despite pleading not guilty to the first set of sex trafficking charges, they now face the possibility of 15 years to life in prison if convicted on the federal charges. The revamped indictment also introduces more alleged victims, with six individuals forming the core of the criminal charges. The new indictment specifically mentions a Minor Victim-3 who was trafficked, even though the Alexander brothers supposedly had a clear opportunity to observe that she was under 18. The attorneys for Tal Alexander have dismissed the superseding indictment as a recycled version of the original case. Likewise, Oren Alexander’s lawyer, Richard Klugh, has criticized the new charges as baseless and vowed to defend his client’s innocence. Alon Alexander’s attorney, Howard Srebnick, highlighted his client’s willingness to undergo a polygraph test, which allegedly confirmed his innocence. Federal prosecutors have not directly responded to the defense team’s assertions, stating that the case remains under investigation. The case has unsettled the real estate community in New York, as the Alexander Group was renowned for its high-value deals with celebrity clients. The trial date for the Alexander brothers, currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, is scheduled for January, with no immediate arraignment set for the new charges.
