Attorney General Pam Bondi and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) engaged in a heated exchange after Crockett expressed her desire for billionaire Elon Musk to face consequences on her upcoming birthday. Crockett’s comments were made during a call with the Tesla Takedown movement, which is organizing a global protest on March 29 at over 500 Tesla locations in opposition to Musk’s efforts to reduce government bureaucracy, coinciding with Crockett’s birthday on the same day.
Bondi cautioned Crockett to be mindful of her statements during an appearance on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.” “As an elected official, she should choose her words carefully because Elon Musk will not face repercussions, and we are committed to defending Tesla owners nationwide,” Bondi stated.
In response, Crockett defended her remarks on MSNBC, clarifying that she did not advocate violence. She also highlighted the need to address individuals involved in violent acts such as the events of January 6th and criticized Bondi for not holding them accountable.
Bondi recently announced charges against three individuals for the destruction of Tesla properties and issued a warning against further acts of domestic terrorism targeting Tesla. The Tesla Takedown movement is encouraging protesters to divest from Tesla, sell their stock, and participate in demonstrations, emphasizing a commitment to peaceful advocacy.
President Trump’s support for Tesla sales and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick’s positive remarks on Tesla stock have been noted in recent events. The clash between Bondi and Crockett underscores the escalating tensions between the two figures.
