In a 2009 interview with People Magazine, she shared her initial reservations about a fellow actor’s casting, admitting, “At first, I was so upset that they hired him. I actually poisoned the whole cast against him. But then they noticed that he wasn’t a jerk and was actually a really nice, charming person. Almost immediately I realized that, too, but it took me about a week to admit it.”
The actress and her former partner were in a relationship from 2007 to 2010, with executive producer Joshua Safran revealing in a 2017 Vanity Fair article that their breakup was kept largely under wraps.
The couple managed to conceal their split from the crew, a feat Safran found remarkable, noting, “They kept the breakup hidden from the crew, which you could never do now. I don’t even know how they did it. They kept it from everybody, which is a testament to how good they are as actors. Because they did not want their personal drama to relate to the show.”
The actress also opened up about facing challenges from some industry professionals regarding her desire for creative involvement in projects, as revealed in a resurfaced interview from the 2022 Forbes Power Women’s Summit. Despite encountering resistance at times, she remained steadfast in her pursuit of contributing to the storytelling process.
Reflecting on her experiences, she expressed, “Sometimes, I had directors or producers or writers who would welcome that and invite that once they saw that I was able to offer that, and sometimes I would have people who really resented that because they were like, ‘We just hired you to be an actor.'”
The actress emphasized the importance of asserting her creative vision from the outset, stating, “I want to have more authorship. It’s about knowing what I want and what I need and knowing what I need from the outset.”
In a revealing interview during a press tour for “Café Society,” an uncomfortable moment arose when a reporter congratulated her on her pregnancy, as captured in a recently resurfaced video.
Blake Lively congratulated Lively on her “little bump.” Lively replied, “Congrats on your little bump.” However, Flaa was not pregnant at that time. The video went viral on social media, amassing millions of views on YouTube. While on the red carpet in London promoting “It Ends With Us,” Lively faced criticism for her response to a gift from a reporter. Upon receiving a pink and white friendship bracelet, Lively expressed gratitude, saying, “Oh my gosh, thank you so much. That’s so sweet. I’m going to put it here because it doesn’t go with my outfit, but I will wear it later.” TikTok users pointed out Lively’s “Regina George vibes” and compared her to the character from “Mean Girls.” One user remarked, “The way it actually FITS her whole outfit.”
Blake Lively faced backlash for her reaction to the gift she received on the red carpet. Following Lively’s allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, and more against Baldoni and film producer Jamey Heath, a complaint was initially lodged with the California Civil Rights department on Dec. 20, later escalating to a federal court filing on Dec. 31. On the same day Lively filed her federal lawsuit, Baldoni countered with a $250 million suit against the New York Times for an article in December that depicted him as orchestrating a smear campaign against his co-star.
Subsequently, Baldoni implicated Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in a separate $400 million defamation lawsuit, accusing the celebrity couple of trying to manipulate “It Ends With Us” and construct their version of events. Fox News Digital has contacted Lively’s representative for a response. Lauryn Overhultz, of Fox News Digital, contributed to this report.
