Renowned actor Courtney B. Vance has been selected to narrate the first-ever audio version of David Levering Lewis’ two-volume biography on W.E.B. Du Bois, a prominent scholar, author, and civil rights activist. The first volume is set to be released on June 17th. Vance expressed his excitement for the project, stating, “As a history enthusiast, I was immediately captivated by W.E.B. Du Bois’s remarkable biography. It is an honor and a true passion project for me to share his legacy with audiobook listeners.” Lewis, who won Pulitzer Prizes for both volumes, expressed his gratitude for the audio release, stating, “Listen to Courtney B. Vance and you shall hear the spoken wisdom of an American colossus, a prophetic man of color whose life and contributions continue to resonate.”
