Abdul Carter Fails to Impress at Penn State’s Pro Day!

Abdul Carter, a standout pass rusher, will not be participating in Penn State’s pro day on Friday as confirmed by his agent on Thursday. Carter, who is expected to be one of the top defensive players selected in the upcoming NFL Draft, is still recovering from a shoulder injury sustained during the Boise State game. According to his agent Drew Rosenhaus, Carter is currently undergoing rehab for the shoulder injury and may showcase his skills to teams in mid-April.

In addition to the shoulder injury, tests conducted at the NFL Scouting Combine revealed a stress reaction in his right foot. Despite the foot injury, Carter decided against surgery. The highly acclaimed player was named a consensus All-American and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2024. In the last season, he recorded impressive stats of 68 tackles, including 23.5 for loss, 12 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 16 games.

Transitioning from linebacker to defensive end, Carter amassed 172 career tackles, 41 for loss, 23 sacks, and five forced fumbles in 42 games over the past three seasons at Penn State. Leading up to the draft, Carter has met with the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns, who own the top two picks, as well as the New York Giants, who hold the third pick.
