Sweden stopped awarding royal honors to its citizens in 1975, but continued to award royal honors to foreigners. At a ceremony at the Royal Palace on Wednesday, 13 people, including the famous music group ABBA, were awarded the royal order.
The group, consisting of Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Björn Ulvaeus, was awarded the 'Vasa Royal Order' for their 'outstanding efforts in international music'.
