Brad Pitt is making a grand entrance onto the racing scene in the latest trailer for the upcoming adrenaline-pumping film “F1,” centered around the world of Formula One racing. Set to hit theaters on June 27, the movie features Pitt in the lead role as Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula One driver haunted by a tragic accident from his past. Despite his reservations, Sonny is persuaded to return to the track to mentor a young and promising rookie, portrayed by Damson Idris, as they gear up for the prestigious Apex Grand Prix race.
At the helm of “F1” is director Joseph Kosinski, known for his work with Tom Cruise on the high-flying blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick.” Kosinski collaborated with a powerhouse team of producers including Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Pitt himself, along with Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton.
In addition to the star-studded duo of Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, the film boasts an ensemble cast featuring Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, Shea Wigham, Joseph Balderrama, Sarah Niles, Samson Kayo, Callie Cooke, and Layne Harper. What’s more, real-life Formula One drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Fernando Alonso will also make special appearances to lend an air of authenticity to the thrilling racing sequences.
The distribution rights for “F1” have been strategically divided, with Apple securing the streaming rights and Warner Bros. handling theatrical, home entertainment, and digital purchase releases. Imax has also jumped on board to bring the heart-racing action of “F1” to the big screen in its signature format.
Having been acquired by Apple in a groundbreaking deal estimated to be worth between $130 million to $140 million, “F1” promises to be a cinematic spectacle that will captivate audiences with its high-octane racing drama and star-studded cast.
