24 million under threat as South braces for more storms and tornadoes!

“The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center has warned that the most powerful storms and the highest threat of strong tornadoes rated EF2 or higher will occur during the late afternoon or early evening. A tornado watch is currently in effect for a region stretching from east Texas to southwestern Mississippi until 3 p.m. C.T. The Storm Prediction Center’s field office in Norman, Oklahoma, has highlighted a severe threat of “damaging gusts, large hail, and the possibility of a few tornadoes” throughout the morning in this area.

As the week progresses, the line of storms is expected to move eastward, with a slight risk of severe weather affecting an additional 24 million individuals from east Alabama to Virginia. Cities such as Atlanta, Charlotte, and Raleigh are under the risk of experiencing more tornadoes, damaging wind gusts, and significant hail.

In light of the ongoing severe weather conditions, there have been more than 5,000 flight delays and 175 cancellations within, to, or from the U.S. as of 1:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, according to FlightAware.com. The majority of these disruptions are concentrated at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, where there have been over 730 delays and nearly 100 cancellations.”
